If production would like to minimize outside rentals, I offer an economical and professional camera package. The package includes a 4.6K Super 35mm camera, set of primes, and accessories. Two pieces in my portfolio, Beatles Symphonic and Heritage Yarn Mills (see “work” page) were filmed with this package.
The packages rents for $500/day or $1500/week and requires a certificate of insurance (COI) and signed rental agreement from the producer prior to rental. Equipment insurance would need to cover the full replacement value of the camera package which is approximately 25K and would need to list my name, Michael Helenek, as a “loss payee”. This is all very standard and simple and I’d be happy to guide you through the process. Athos Insurance, is an insurance company that many people use in the industry, but obviously you are welcome to use whomever you like.
Every project has different equipment needs and my camera package may or may not be the best for your film. If we determine that an Alexa with anamorphic lenses is best for your project, then a rental house will be a better option. Having said that, the below gear, which produces great images, is there if we need it.
